Rush University Medical Center Takes Precautions Against Swine Flu

Rush University Medical Center is taking precautions against the swine flu.

While swine flu has not yet been identified in Illinois , it is critical that all hospital staff, inpatients, outpatients, and visitors be aware of the symptoms of swine flu and take appropriate action.

All inpatients, outpatients and visitors to Rush will be asked if they have a fever or cough. Those who have flu-like symptoms will be placed on both contact and droplet precautions, meaning they will receive a mask and employees caring for these patients will wear gloves and a N95 respirator mask.
